The Difference Between 6, 7, and 8 Figures—And Why $150K is Harder Than $1M
Most people assume making $1M per year is exponentially harder than making $150K. The reality? It’s the opposite. The jump from six to seven figures isn’t just about working harder—it’s about changing how you work. I wouldn’t have believed this six years ago, but after scaling multiple businesses, I’ve seen it firsthand. Let’s break it down:
6 Figures: The Highly Skilled Solo Worker
A six-figure earner is someone who’s extremely good at what they do. They work long hours, often 6-7 days a week, and compete in a crowded space. It’s grind mode. They might be a high-earning freelancer, consultant, or sales rep, but they do everything themselves. No leverage. No team. Just skill and sweat equity.
7 Figures: The Small Team & Systems Builder
A seven-figure earner shifts from doing everything to building a machine. They have a small team, run daily content and ads, automate parts of the business, and reinvest capital. They stop trading time for money and start leveraging systems. This is where most people struggle—not because they’re not working hard, but because they’re afraid to delegate and scale.
8 Figures: The Leader of Leaders
An eight-figure business is a fully built company. The owner no longer manages people—they manage managers who run the team. They have content, capital, and automation working at scale. At this level, time is focused on high-level strategy, partnerships, and expansion. The real game here isn’t just making money—it’s sustaining and multiplying it.
The Hardest Number to Hit? $150K.
It sounds crazy, but it’s true: making $150K per year is harder than making $1M. Why? Because you’re still doing everything yourself. You’re working nonstop, dealing with endless competition, and likely stuck in the cycle of trading time for money. The moment you start hiring, automating, and scaling, the path to $1M becomes easier.
